a year agoThis use to be my favourite op shop in town. I was told there is a new system and manager running behind the scenes. They really wanted to let people who donated electrical goods know, that they no longer accept these items, however they weren't allowed to tell people this. So I asked what happens to these donations they said they are thrown straight into the bin. They said that alot of donated items are thrown away. I asked why it wasn't passed on to other outlets or offered at a great discount. Apparently it does not fit in with the new business model that has been introduced, and that if the public knew how much 'rubbish' went out of that shop, there would be a huge amount of complaints made. I am so very sad that this is what a Salvation Army shop now represents.
