3 months agoThank you so much. I had a stroke last week, sadly my husband couldn't come and had to drive up to Auckland. You sat with me. And watch over me. Held my hand and look after me. I was scared but did not feel alone. Thank you.

7 years agoSunday 26th Nov 2017, I had a motorbike accident south of Ohakune. The PN rescue chopper was unavailable so the great guys from Taranaki swooped in to save the day. Ian, Andy and the pilot (who my friends offered him my bike for $1) flew me home to PN. As I had a severe cut to the bottom half of my nose, as well other injuries, I was bandage heavily over my eyes, nose and mouth. Half way during the flight I became claustrophobic and extremely anxious and dear I say a pain in the ass, Ian and Andy cut away the bandages, improving my visibility, maintained pressure on the wound and calmed me down. Not an easy task in the confined space of a helicopter with a 115 kg, 6"3" patient. To you all a big thank you for your efforts that day in particular and work in general. There is no more a welcome sound than the thwak thwak thwak of a chopper arriving on scene. Thanks again, Rob Freeman, Fire and Emergency NZ
