Maclaurin Chapel is a serene and intimate place of worship nestled on Princes Street at the University of Auckland. This fairly small chapel, built in the 1960s, serves not only as a spiritual refuge but also as a popular meeting spot for the campus community. Visitors often remark on its understated beauty and the surprising presence of a fine organ tucked away in a loft, adding a touch of musical heritage despite some challenges with sound amplification. Located discreetly with an entrance that’s easy to miss, the chapel invites those seeking a quiet moment or a unique historical site in Auckland Central. Whether attending a service or simply exploring, Maclaurin Chapel offers a peaceful and reflective atmosphere that complements its university setting.

10 months agoBuilt in the 1960s on the campus the chaplaincy's space is .uch more heavily used as a meeting place than a place of worship so I was stunned to hear a fine organ hidden away in a loft but the sound system produced a poor amplification of voices
