2 weeks agoIt was nice to go there around 1 o'clock on the weekend because it wasn't that crowded! If you go see the animals in time for feeding on the map, you can see many animals such as rhinos and giraffes right in front of your eyes, so families with children will be even better. I bought a ticket online in advance that day, and it was cheaper, so I was satisfied👍

a month agoThe zoo map could be better to explore easily. The staff was very good. Kids enjoyed the visit, especially the dedicated animal feed times. Ample parking at the front. The shuttle service was very nice 👌. Kids love Tasmanian Devil. Overall nice to have a day out with the kids especially on a sunny day.

4 months agoA wonderful family day out at Orana Park. Haven’t been for a few years but we were so impressed. We saw gorillas, rhinos, zebras, tiger, lions and giraffes up pretty close. The giraffe feeding is always a hit and the kids loved it. The shuttle bus is perfect to give the little legs a rest, and it’s good to do the loop for an overview of everything there. Staff and volunteers were all lovely and very knowledgeable. Reasonably priced admission and the cafe food was lovely too! We’ll definitely be back!

a month agoOrana Wildlife Park is a fantastic destination for families and anyone who loves animals. We had a great day with the kids, exploring the open-range enclosures and learning about the park’s fabulous wildlife. The animals are clearly well cared for, and the staff are passionate about conservation, providing visitors with valuable knowledge and insight during their talks and feeding sessions. Highlights included getting up close to lions, giraffes, and native New Zealand species. It’s also inspiring to see the park’s efforts to protect endangered animals, though they do need support from visitors and the community to continue their important work. There are plenty of shaded picnic areas and a playground, making it a comfortable place to spend a full day. Overall, Orana Wildlife Park offers an unforgettable experience that combines fun with education, making it a must-visit for anyone visiting Christchurch. Highly recommended for families and animal lovers alike!

a month agoI really enjoyed the Orana teams presentation / knowledge shared about the Cheetah's . Feeding the Giraffes was a wonderful experience & so incredible to encounter the Gorillas , Rinos, lions & so much more . Wonderful team working there . It is a large place , so expect walking around but there is also the option to jump on the wee train cart as well. I say allow at least 3 hours to enjoy the time there - I walked it & think you need more than 2 hours .
