Wife brought a nice looking steak here. When removed from the packaging we found a great big strip of grisel and fat had been packed with the steak. I guess that this is something we are all starting to expect from Woolworths, Countdown was just the same.

At 5:30 PM, I visited the Bethlehem Woolworth store with my four-year-old child to make a purchase and collect some Cubeez toys as part of a promotion. We spent $11, and the promotion advertised that five Cubeez toys were included. However, I saw no signage stating that the offer only applied to purchases of $30 or more—I only noticed a sign indicating that a $30 purchase would receive one Cubeez. When I inquired about this, a middle-aged staff member rudely informed me that, since our purchase was under $30, we would receive no Cubeez. My child immediately burst into tears upon hearing this, and the employee showed no concern, simply turning around and walking away. I was extremely disappointed with the experience, and I will be advising everyone I know to avoid the Bethlehem Woolworth store.

I have never encountered such stinginess regarding the Cubeez promotion at any other Woolworths. This campaign was meant to delight children, yet my child is still upset because he didn’t receive his Cubeez, and I fail to understand why a simple cardboard item is being withheld so tightly. In contrast, the staff at the Tauranga City and Fraser Cove locations distribute the Cubeez fairly, which makes this experience even more disappointing. This was my first visit to the Bethlehem store, and it will undoubtedly be my last. Such poor service and quality have truly tarnished the reputation of Bethlehem.
