2 months agoI recently bought a pack of mixed coconut jelly from this supermarket and was lucky enough to find a “surprise flavor” — one of the jellies was moldy and black. At first, I actually thought it was some kind of grape flavor, but after finishing the whole pack, I realized something was seriously wrong. I kept the receipt and took photos, then went back to the store to see how they would handle it. At first, the cashier was polite and quickly called over someone who seemed like a manager. She told us we could either get a refund or an exchange. Sounded pretty responsible at the time. But when my partner and I made up our minds to get a refund and went back to the counter, the original “manager” had magically disappeared, and another staff member came over with a completely different attitude — offering us just one single jelly and saying we should’ve brought the moldy one back with us. Honestly, it’s not about the jelly or the money. The basic thing here is that if your store sells a product with a safety issue, at least make the process clear from the start. Don’t give your customers mixed messages and have your staff pass the responsibility around like a hot potato. It just leaves a bad impression. Food safety is the bare minimum for any store. I sincerely hope they work on their internal communication and handle these situations better in the future — and maybe avoid giving customers any more “surprise flavors.”

a month agoSuper well-stocked with all kinds of goodies from across Asia. From sauces to snacks, they’ve got something for every cuisine. Staff are always friendly, easy to talk to, and happy to help. Definitely my go-to spot for Asian ingredients.

3 weeks agoThis store has everything. Korean, Japanese, Filipino. 20kg bags of rice for 40 bucks. Dried spices. Pickled and fermented foods. Sweets. Drinks. They even have gas hobs and rice cookers. The store is arranged by nationality, but the isles don't say what is where. You may have to hunt around or ask a staff member as the store is quite large.

4 months agoMy first time at this store yesterday afternoon. The aisles are tight only one trolley can go through in one direction I think (is this correct?) but at certain spots you can park your trolley without blocking other shoppers’ trolleys. Great selection of products, tidy and clean store, although I could not find one item so I’ll have to go back and ask them next time I’m in the store. The young man checkout operator was pleasant and another checkout operator (a woman) helped to bag my items. And as I was entering the store again to return the trolley, this young man approached and took the trolley off me so I did not need to wheel it past the ‘swinging arms’ entry gates. Thanks for the great service, I hope to be back soon for more new items to try.
