Went to New World Gardens for some pick up items and snacks. It's a supermarket with prices far lower than your every day convenience store. Has a bakery with fresh baked items on the shelves. Every thing else from frozen foods to snacks to veges and fruit, even has convenience items. Has self checkout stations and checkouts with lovely staff. Good amount of free parking available. Closes too early and should really stay open longer especially on weekends.

The vegetarian section has turned to garbage lately. They change it up every few months, they once had 3 types of high protein vegetarian chicken. They took that away and then tried to sell the low protein tofu sausages for $15 a pack until no one bought them so they got rid of them. Now they have nothing but low protein tofu the size of Texas. It's almost worse than the vegetarian options we had in the 90s.

Annoyed you sell a specific cheese block for about $19.50 when I know of a packnsave selling it for $14.50 right now. Not a cost of living crises, we have a constant record profit crisis. More and more shopping done online at alternatives now.

The self-checkouts are very annoying and will waste your time. Most of them can’t read the Clubcard, so you need to enter the number manually. If you buy “cheap” vegetables like onions, every time you put those in the assistant would come to check that you didn’t cheat with more expensive ones. You have to be very careful not to move your items/bags in the bagging area because the machine will throw an error, and the assistant would come again to check. I have been to several other New World stores across the country, and I haven’t had these issues before.
