a month agoI'm a local in Herne Bay and have been for a number of years. However, each time I've gone to this particular supermarket, I am constantly being watched. I understand security and surveillance given the crime within our society. However, when I've had staff hover over me watching everything I've scanned, it becomes a deplorable customer experience. When I confronted the lady about "profiling" and why I've never witnessed her treat other customers the same, she victimized herself. You can measure this by your own metrics but racism is prevelant in Herne Bay & Ponsonby and is something I will not tolerate. Needless to say other shoppers found my distress amusing. We won't be returning to that supermarket and will continue to shop at either Grey Lynn or Ponsonby Countdown instead!! Deplorable behavior and what a horrid customer experience that I wouldn't wish upon anyone else.
