2 months agoThis supermarket is the closest to me by far so I have been here a lot over the years. In that time I have accidentally bought stuff that was past its best before date with incredible frequency and almost made the mistake many times. I have seen tortellini over a month past its best before date on the shelves, packets of gnocchi with green mould growing within staying on the shelf for over a week, expired milk, and bread that is already stale. The fruit and vegetable section just looks sad, like leftovers from other supermarkets, and how often they have these issues year after year really leads me to an inescapable conclusion: they do it on purpose. I can’t really think of any other reason why there would constantly be so much expired food (a whole MONTH, really?) without anything changing for so long, unless they were trying, on purpose, to get away with selling old stock to unsuspecting people. Avoid this place like the plague if you can, and if its your only option, do as i do and make sure you check every best by date of everything you buy.

4 months agoI walk in there well dressed man in my 40s and the security guard literally follows me around the store like I’m some type of criminal… halfway through I was like is this some kind of a prank show. Nope - I think it was educational on how others might feel sometimes so I on one hand Woolworth I thank you for that education and on the other hand, I will never shop at your store again for the disrespect.

a month agoPLEASE, can this supermarket stay open past 6/7pm? It's so inconvenient being the closest available supermarket and never open outside work hours.

10 months agoOddest countdown I've been to, security at front door shadowboxing and talking to himself, friendly otherwise though. All workers not wanting to interact with anyone and seemed bored. No bread. Other than that it's alright, got what I needed but definitely an experience.
