2 months agoWoolworths Pt Chevalier, located on Point Chevalier Road, serves as a trusted and accessible supermarket for residents of this well-established Auckland suburb. Open daily from 8 am to 8 pm, it provides convenient hours that suit early risers, busy parents, and commuters alike. The recent reduction in operating hours reflects a wider community effort to manage growing safety concerns in the area, including antisocial behaviour and petty crime. Despite these challenges, the store continues to operate as a steady presence in the neighbourhood, offering essential groceries and household goods to locals who rely on it for their day-to-day needs. Inside, the store is compact but well laid out, with clean aisles and clearly marked sections for produce, frozen foods, meat, pantry staples, bakery goods, and household items. The fresh fruit and vegetables are usually of decent quality, and while the range might not rival larger supermarkets, most basics are available and consistently restocked. The meat and deli section is smaller and can occasionally experience low stock, but for most everyday meals and essentials, the store is more than sufficient. The addition of self-checkouts speeds up the process during busier times, though there are fewer machines compared to larger branches, and queues can form during peak hours. What really sets Woolworths Pt Chevalier apart is the customer service. Shoppers frequently mention the helpful and friendly nature of the staff, who are quick to assist with locating items or solving any issues at checkout. The team contributes to a welcoming atmosphere that makes the store feel more like a local corner shop than a national chain. While parking space can be limited, especially during weekend rushes, most locals find the location convenient enough to either walk or make a quick stop on the way home. Though not without its drawbacks—such as limited stock variety and minor parking challenges—Woolworths Pt Chevalier remains a valued part of the community. It fills an important role by providing reliable, friendly service and everyday groceries in a setting that’s close to home. For those living in or near Pt Chev, it’s not just a place to shop, but a familiar and dependable stop that continues to meet the needs of its neighbourhood with quiet consistency.

2 months agoLovely staff. Always pleasant and happy to help. Edit: Today your staff proved themselves again as just the best people and so helpful. I left my hand bag in the cart when I brought it back inside. One of your lovely ladies spotted me leaving without it and made sure to put it away for when I came back for it. I am so grateful.

a year agoA small supermarket, compared their other branches, and looked really packed. They have most of your daily items, although only limited variants. Their staff members are busy but still able to give enough attention to customers. They shared the parking area with the rest of the shopping centre so parking can be challenging at times.

5 months ago5 stars:Staff are nice, Always well stocked, Council owned free car park, in the heart of the Pt Chev shops .. - 1 star: Store is smaller than most therefore range of products isn't extensive & has people right at the front entrance taking up space. Also, it doesn't have a cafe (per photo 7)

7 months agoLovely helpful staff. To be fair the shop is small and extremely limited with selections of products. I have found if they merchandise there store better they could stock more brands by limiting the facings they give to other brands.. example wattles can soup lots of facings no Campbell's which is a better product.
