What is a Crop Swap?

A crop swap is a fun and simple way for community members to share their homegrown produce and homemade goods. It’s a non-monetary exchange where you can trade your surplus vegetables, fruits, and other items for a variety of new things for your kitchen. It’s a great opportunity to reduce food waste and connect with local people who are passionate about gardening.

What to Bring:

  • Homegrown Produce: Bring your extra fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
  • Homemade Products: Jams, chutneys, eggs, baked goods, or honey.
  • Gardening Supplies: Seeds, seedlings, and cuttings are also welcome.

Why Join the Swap?

  • Diversify Your Pantry: Swap your excess harvest for something new and different.
  • Meet Local Growers: Connect with your neighbors and share gardening tips and stories.
  • Support Local Sustainability: Be part of a community effort to reduce food waste and promote local food systems.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just have a few extra lemons, everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you at the Awapuni Community Centre!

Suzy Randall

Suzy Randall is mentioned in the context of being a "Crop Swap Programme Manager" with Franziska von Hunerbein and working for Sustainable Taranaki. This suggests she plays a key role in the organization now, but the initial founding is attributed to Franziska von Hunerbein.
