a year agoMy friend and I decided to have lunch together after a walk. The young man on the counter desperately needs training. It took several minutes for him to find the burger special I'd ordered to have with my coffee, then he initially was charging $27.50 for the burger instead of $16. Id ordered the Vegan burger, as dairy disagrees with me lately and it was on special! It took several minutes for him to manage taking my friends order after me (waffle and coffee). My coffee came out reasonably quickly, followed by her meal. Her flat white was a lot later coming out (and he was going to give it to me - I'd finished the long black he'd brought me), and I asked then where my meal was. He asked if I wanted him to check and I said yes please. He didn't come back out, so when another staff member was bussing a nearby table I asked her where my meal was. Apparently being the special it hadn't gone through properly. He had at least followed up when I asked, so it was cooking. She did offer a free coffee but I didn't want another. The meal finally arrived, after my friend had finished her lunch- despite her pausing several times wanting to wait (I told her not to let her food get cold but she was uncomfortable eating alone). I was surprised at the chips- there were 4 chunky ones - actually handmade agria potato hashbrowns. They were very nice, but not what I expected. The vegan burger was small but would have been quite nice if the pattie was cooked in slightly hotter oil for less time, so it wasn't oily and overcooked at the edges. My friend did enjoy her waffle apart from the discomfort of eating alone, and the coffees were okay.

4 weeks agoVery disappointed with my experience at the beach hut cafe on Friday 25 July 2025. Ordered the berry cake and coffee. In the cabinet, it was displayed as one large cake. When it arived, the portion size of the cake was tiny for $8.00!! Coffee was lukewarm. Returned the cake and requested a larger slice. Was then made to wait over 5 minutes. When the cake finally arrived, it was still micro sized! I have eaten here many times with my family and have never had this experience before. Will definitely not be coming back.

a year agoOrdered a small takeaway fries. Waited an age, even though the place was extremely quiet. Staff were wandering around aimlessly and ignoring customers coming into the cafe. Very disappointed when $7.50 order arrived to find tiny serving in the box. Don’t think I will return.
