Merivale Community Garden in Tauranga offers a peaceful spot for locals to enjoy fresh, free vegetables and admire lovely gardens cultivated with community care. Visitors appreciate the generosity of the garden, where anyone can help themselves to fresh produce while being mindful to leave enough for others. Although some wish for improved water supply to nurture the greenery further, this park remains a cherished point of interest for those seeking a quiet connection with nature and community spirit.

6 years agoThis is a very neat place to come, share and wonder through the gardens. Because it is run by volunteers in the community the gardens are often a wild jungle of interesting bits and people. The concept is that people from the community can come and help in the gardens, share their knowledge and skills, make friends, to help build a stronger, safer community. As well as provide some much needed green Vege and fruit to those who need it most. Garden is open UK the public but please be aware that there are bees in hives at the garden so watch out for little ones. Taking food from the gardens I'd ok but once again please be mindful of how much you take, band that people in need have worked hard to make this garden as good as it is. Facebook page, and committee

5 years agoThe problem with the garden is the water. You cant feed and nurture a garden with dead water. The Kaimais water will bring this garden to life and I would love to bring the first big haul of water. :)
