4 weeks agoBrilliant experience! I did the night tour in July 2025. The night tour was well paced, and the guides were exceptionally knowledgeable about the construction and maintenance of the sanctuary - as well as all the plants and animals that call Zealandia home. With the night tour, I also got free entry to Zealandia the same/next day - so that I could explore the various walking tracks myself. Keep up the amazing work. 10/10… would visit again in a heartbeat.

a month agoOne of the favorite things in New Zealand so far. The birds and the lush greenery along with the water make for very photogenic hikes. There is a suspension bridge and bird feeders that attract birds. The hikes are filled with bird song. The map and bird guide that is free is very useful. Finally, the exhibition and the five minute video are worth it.

3 months agoAn unexpected pleasure!!! After seeing a youtube video on the park, I realised how valuable it would be to take the guided tour. We saw so much more and learned some amazing things from the tour that we just would not have known about if we did it alone. Loved the Kakas, Tuataras and stunning rejuvenating native forest.

a month agoWe loved the nocturnal tour. Totally recommended. In the end of the tour in the sanctuary, we saw a kiwi. I need to emphasize the free environment the animals have here, I like it!

5 months agoHad a beautiful tour of Zealandia guided by Des in a small group. The grounds are lovely and well-kept with the sounds of various birds and insects throughout. Des was very knowledgeable and you could tell he really enjoys showing people around, pointing out the wildlife, and answering any questions you have. The guided trail is mostly flat with two areas of short ascents/descents. There are optional trails for those interested in steeper or rougher terrain. If you have any interest in going for a nature walk and seeing some birds definitely book a tour or do a self-guided walk!
