Wellington City Council (offices only) is situated in the heart of Wellington Central at 113 The Terrace. Serving as a key establishment for the city’s administrative operations, this location is essential for those seeking official services within the capital. While it functions primarily as office space, its role in supporting the community and local governance remains vital to Wellington’s daily rhythm.

a week agoAs we all know council rates are getting increased every year now with a big numbers in this high cost living country. There is no transparency about the rates to be invested, there is no feedback taken from the residents about where toninvest their hard earned money. And interesting part is that it is mentioned that rates are depend on your property value which is not correct, seems it is being calculated when your property value was high, so this is so pathetic. Council should be to serve to the benefits of residents. I hope council to reconsider their plan of action and rates demand. Thanks 🙏

2 weeks agoIt is truly frustrating to witness the current state of affairs with our local council. If u read this and not happy with council rate them so they wil surely learn from feedback. I got my latest rate bill for wellington and auckland .. wellington rates are expensive by over 2k for a 900k house. Then they make a over 2 million toilet 🚻.. wasted so much money for a basic toilet when we all are in recession As ratepayers, we’re already burdened with the high cost of living, yet the council continues to overcharge for basic services and infrastructure maintenance. What’s worse is the lack of transparency and accountability regarding how our hard-earned money is being spent. In time of cost of living crisis they are wasting money on cycleway and spending unnecessary money on Re foing round abouts The mayor's management of the budget is incredibly disappointing. Instead of prioritizing essential services and the community’s well-being, there seems to be wasteful spending on projects that provide little to no benefit to ratepayers. Critical needs like low increase in rares and community safety are being sidelined while funds are misallocated to vanity projects or unessential initiatives. It’s clear that the current leadership lacks the foresight to properly manage the community’s resources. Please vote and make sure mayor is out of council for any more poor decision making The high rates we are being charged do not reflect an improvement in services, and it feels as though the community is being taken for granted. We deserve a mayor and council who are accountable, responsible, and transparent in their decision-making. I urge the council to reassess its spending priorities and take a more thoughtful approach to managing the funds entrusted to them by the ratepayers. Until that happens, it’s hard to have any faith in the current administration’s ability to serve the community effectively.

a week agoMy rates have increased 23% this year and when I asked over the phone then they have no clue about steep rise, still waiting for the email reply. Outrageous spending with lesser values.

a year agoWCC Parking Gestapo agents are becoming more predatory on fining people - saw one of the parked cars got fine this morning at Wakefield St - even before 8:30 am. The car parked at the metered parking spot, did not park at clearway and didn't obstruct any traffics. Guess they need more funds on those infamous bike lanes and leaking pipes everywhere else.

a year agoWhat an appalling service! I have made a petition more or less than a fortnight ago about Law and Order, and Cleanliness in Wellington City and I have received an email that confirming its publication and yet still haven't published as of now plus given its short timeframe for signatures. Rang its office and apparently they are either "busy or short staffed". What a ludicrous excuse. I reckon that a 5 year old could operate this establishment better than these woke, bigoted leftie shills. Aren't you leftie shills paid enough to do your job properly? Or you guys would have mastered and adapted the Das Kapital concepts? Wellington City needs to be back in the centre. It wasn't like this during Andy Foster's time as Mayor
