2 weeks agoAbsolute worst council in the country. They charge the highest rates but are rude, slack and generally just don't care about anyone. They should be ashamed with the level of customer service. We've had so many problems with them! Northland council are so much more friendlier and actually do their job. Too much red tape and employees all passing responsibility around. Needs a new system and total over haul of employees and management.

3 months agoPretty poor communication after the recent flooding in Banks Peninsula. Was checking their website constantly for when SH75 would be open so we could leave. The road was closed but contractors were still escorting people through. Home now, no thanks to the useless updates from you. Went to Little River on a whim and got out so thanks very much to the helpful contractors. Get your act together. There were hundreds trapped in Akaroa for the past few days. Communication should have been better all around.

6 months agoI’m a bit creeped out. I live beside Barrington park. There are a bunch of council workers out today doing some landscaping around the park. They are all doing a beautiful job except for one guy who can’t mind his own business. I was upstairs in my room vacuuming and I see him staring up into my bedroom window. Very creepy and if I see him doing it again I will be exchanging words with him. I have the registration of the van him and his crew are working out of, by the way.

8 months agoDisrespectful staff and extremely slack at replying to email complaints. I made a complaint a month ago, and have only just heard back from them- nearly past the date where anything could even be done. No surprise when a staff member, J. Dickson, offered no solution to this problem that affected many people in the community, and her reply just reflected arrogance. The city council needs to take more responsibility and make more of an effort to work for the people, not just for themselves. Saying “it is not the council responsibility to provide street parking for residents” is completely arrogant when there is absolutely no reason to put 2 hour time limits on car parks in-front of people’s houses other than to make it a money grabbing scheme, it may not be the councils responsibility but it is common decency to let residents park outside their houses without being charged for it. Very disappointing.
