Western Bay of Plenty District Council stands as a vital establishment in Greerton, Tauranga, committed to managing a vast district with limited resources. Residents appreciate the council’s efforts, noting that despite a smaller ratepayer base, the team is doing a fantastic job maintaining services and community standards. This point of interest remains an essential hub for local governance and community support, reflecting a strong dedication to the area’s growth and wellbeing.

4 months agoWbopdc compliance team are happy to allow illegal dwellings. One team member telephoned me 'n told me that people can't afford building permits 'n resource consents. He said he was too busy. So people are living in illegal dwellings with non- compliant septic tanks. This includes renters. So if you want to buy a tiny home(s) 'n just plonk it\them down anywhere you will probably get away with it.

4 months agoWorst council ever I have dealt with. They only work 2-3 hours a day just for 3 to 4 days. They won’t schedule anything on Friday because it’s their day off. They wont answer the calls on Friday. Wasting ratepayers money. Big corruption in Newzealand. So called corruption free nation.

2 years agoIf you want to lose money this is the council for you. They helped take $500,000 (half a million) off the value of my house. They're absolutely useless. Most councils believe in assisting the ratepayers. Not this one, in fact the CEO has publicly stated that he doesn't answer to the ratepayers. At best this Council does nothing and at worst they deliberately obstruct. Best advice is to move away to another council, there is no possibility they will be worse than this one. Do remember to keep records of your transactions so that you'll be ready when they try to charge you a second time. Council has a slush fund to pay for consents when people don't want to pay for theirs. Try and get in on that.

2 years agoOld mayor - new mayor same self centered - most expensive rates in New Zealand and they still do not look into cost cutting, improvements, or sell not much used assets why do they have to use the most expensive IT system when there are way cheaper options, ...... When do they start to look out for their customers???? I could go on and on, but they do not listen 7% rates increase for same or decreasing services like waste management - closing of greerton transfer station, se we all have to waste time and petrol to drive to Bayfair
