10 months agoThe good companion have been a great and reliable introduction to my Dad, allowing my mum to have a bit of time off each week. Pam has been excellent and talked me through the process very clearly. If they can only sort out how they do accounts, and follow up to questions of their admin team, then they would be a great all round company.

a year agoI took great care in choosing suitable at home support for my elderly mother. I am so glad I found the Good Companion as they have made a huge difference to my mother. Over the time we have used their service her mobility and her short-term memory have declined, and having such kind and professional carers has been wonderful. I am very grateful for all they do.

a year agoMy mother has been very well supported by Good Companions Nelson for the past 8 months. She looks forward to the twice weekly outings and conversation with her companion who is thoughtful and caring and quickly became an essential part of my mother’s support group. If plans change our carer and the administration are very responsive and accommodating.

a year agoWe have had two lovely women from The Good Companion visiting our sister, who is living in a rest home and whose dementia is worsening every weeke, over almost 4 years. They take her out for a walk and a chat once a week and manage the 'repeat conversations' that come with dementia wonderfully. Although family visit regularly, the visit from her 'good companion' is a highlight of her week.

a year agoWe unexpectedly needed overnight home care after an older relative was released from hospital. Stephanie was friendly and helpful and the people who came were competent, professional, and connected well with the client and their spouse. It wasn't cheap, but compared to the few visits under the public system, it was a much more reliable and competent service. (Not that I can really blame the criminally underfunded public health system.)
