Summerset by the Sea Retirement Village

My Parents were at Summerset Katikati for two years before they passed on. They loved it. Their place in Tauranga had become a bit much to handle in the end. Summerset is pretty much self sufficient and you can participate as much or as little as you want to in the activities onsite. The location is beautiful, the views are lovely and there is a fabulous walk around the outside of the village which never ceased to impress us. The staff are helpful and will assist as much or as little as you want. Something to consider when relocating there, if you need Tauranga's hospital services on any kind of regular basis the road to Tauranga is pretty rough for both private vehicles and ambulances and its a long trip, especially at night. However, Katikati is growing which means that medical services there will eventually expand. Its a very busy town centre and a lovely location. Enjoy Summerset! 😊👍

My friend John Crossley went here last year 2018 rather reluctantly because he was sad that he couldn't cope living in his hillside. In the bush home anymore.He is very happy at Summerset. Everyone happy and well looked after.I am going to see him for the first time on 25th May so will post you what I think. He is amazed at all the facilities for the folk there!

My husband had 2 weeks respite care, in the hospital care wing. I was very disappointed at the level of care, they say all rooms are premium rooms in my opinion are not as they do not have their own ensuite.

Beautiful setting. Very well organised facilities and ideal retirement village for mom. Friendly and helpful staff and people in the complex.
