Auckland Town Hall stands as a magnificent testament to the city’s rich heritage, nestled in the bustling Auckland Central district. Its classic architecture immediately captures attention, offering a striking contrast to the modern cityscape surrounding it. Inside, visitors are greeted by a stunning main hall that feels like a scene from a movie, complete with a beautifully preserved historic organ that continues to impress. The attention to detail is remarkable, with original features like intricate tiles, stained glass windows, elegant stair railings, and polished wooden floors all meticulously maintained.
This iconic building is more than just an architectural treasure; it’s a vibrant cultural hub known for its excellent acoustics, making it a preferred venue for concerts and significant events. The cozy atmosphere combined with its historic significance—having hosted legendary acts such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—makes it a must-visit point of interest for anyone exploring Auckland. Whether attending an event or simply stopping by for a brief visit, Auckland Town Hall offers a memorable glimpse into the city’s past and present.

a month agoI first saw the Town Hall when I arrived in Auckland, and later I had the chance to see it more closely during my time in the city. The building already stands out from the outside, with its classic architecture that contrasts with all the modern things around it. But the most beautiful part is definitely inside. The main hall, used for concerts, is a stunning space. It looks like something from a movie, and it has a huge, historic organ that is still preserved. It’s one of those instruments that impress you just by looking at it. I loved that many original details are still there: the tiles, the stained glass windows, the stair railings, the wooden floors — all well preserved and in good condition. You can tell they really care about the history of the place. It’s a building with a strong presence in the city, a local landmark and the site of historic events, like the visit of The Beatles in 1964 and even The Rolling Stones in 1965. It’s worth going in if you’re in the city center, even just for a short visit. It’s not always open to the public, but there are often events and concerts. I recommend it. It’s a piece of Auckland’s history.

a year agoCame here to see Boney M. Never been here before, great smaller venue with great acoustics. Lovely old building with ornate ceiling as well as large organ at the front. Main area is standing only with small balcony around the edge

7 months agoGreat venue for live music. Acoustics are good. Has a massive organ. Pic seats carefully as for some you can't see the whole stage.
