a year agoHands down the best chippy in Papamoa. The ladies at the counter and kitchen are always jovial and very friendly. A standard order of fish and chips is whatever the fish of the day is and a half scoop of chips. The batter is delicious and crispy, the fish (often bluegill) is cooked well and never dry. They're very generous with salt! If you're dining in, don't forget to bring your own sauces to save a bit of money. Absolutely worth your money!

5 months agoBought 'fresh fish' fillets to cook at home- was assured it was fresh! The fish smelt horrible when we were going to cook it that evening- so much so that we ended up throwing it away as we were afraid of getting food poisoning. Have bought fish there for 5 years with no problems but I think that it is under new management. Lovely ladies behind the counter though. Won't be back.

4 years agoAbsolutely great place for fish and chips! It is obviously a great place, because the locals keep it busy! They only use fresh fish that is delivered daily (never frozen fish...), and it is delicious! Just don’t wait until near closing time to go, because if it’s a busy day, sometimes they will run out of fish. Prices and portions were good. It was busy when we arrived around 5 PM, so we had to wait about 25 minutes for our order, but it was worth it! Kop

10 months ago*Updated 21/10/24: Disappointed with our meals tonight. Chips were soggy and meal in general cold. Although was more expensive @ $28 than last time. Looks like new owners, definitely won't come back. First time I have ordered from Bobbys Sea Fresh Fish & Chips. Fish was light and tasty, and chips were crisp, and how chips should be. Chuurrr

5 months agoLong time customers use to be amazing, , under new ownership now and as per previous reviews worst fish and chips we have ever had. Fish smelt in the package and didn't taste good so probably going to get sick. Chips where terrible soggy undercooked with no salt . Won't be back.
