My mother is member of Blind Low Vision NZ, and I cannot speak highly enough of the advocacy, advice and services that they have provided her when she was struggling to cope with dual sensory loss, deteriorating vision and hearing. They have a huge knowledge of what subsidies and services are available in the community and helped her with hearing aids, equipment and technology training to help with her loss of sight, and she was able to access support groups, and an exclusive audio book collection on two platforms. The facilities in Dunedin are disability accessable and the staff are extremely helpful, patient and knowledgeable of the local area and local resources specific to Dunedin. The services in Dunedin have been second to none, and I hope they are able to continue to in their important work in our community. My mother has moved north to Timaru, and the staff in Dunedin have ensured her transition to the Timaru service has been seamless. Thank you very much to the years of help when my mother needed it most. Best wishes for the future of this essential service.

A good place to go if you or someone else you know has low vision or blind. They have a person who will visit after you have joined the foundation. All the staff are helpful, giving suggestions and information as needed.
