Blockhill Forest Garden

We were staying here for three days in February 2023. We were glad it was possible since we‘re travelling and we were not able to stay in the area for a long time. The way Melisa and Olmec run their garden was very inspiring to us. They explained a lot about perma culture and the way they had set up their garden as we were very interested. The work we did is pretty much helping out with some stuff that simply takes longer when doing it alone. They have been very considerate too, providing gloves and avoiding the hot midday hours. We had some great talks and enjoyed our stay in the shed a lot. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic and informative visit to the beautiful forest garden at Blockhill. We did the foodscaping/forest gardening workshop, and it was well worth it. We learned heaps! Melisa and Olmec were very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend it to anyone interested in permaculture or forest gardening.

I stayed at Blockhill for a few days and had a splendid time. I loved the outdoor shower, heater with a wood burner in a beautiful wood cabin and the daily feeding of the free ranging ducks, chicken and piggies. The location is beautiful and feels calm and remote. Olmec and Melissa are such great people to be around with and I'd wish to spend time with them and their amazing Permaculture farm again!

An amazing place run by amazing people! A fantastic example of permaculture and food forestry, and how to create abundance in a dry climate. The cottage is a great spot for a weekend getaway, and we received a very warm welcome and delicious home-grown food from Olmec and Melisa. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!
