7 months agoMum was a very happy resident at Accadia Retirement Village from 2017, enjoying her own lovely Apt, the caring attention of the many staff, the wonderful company of so many that became lovely friends. In 2022, she needed to transfer to the Manor Care facility which proved to be just as fulfilling & such a relief for her 7 children who could appreciate the many benefits. Finally reaching 94yrs in October, she needed full time hospital care but sadly, she passed just before Xmas. Today, Accadia put on a beautiful afternoon tea memorial; staff & residents recalling precious times. All the family that were there, were thrilled to receive such support and would like to say how very grateful we are that Mum was loved so much, by so many.

11 months agoMy mum has just moved from her two bedroom unit to a one bedroom apartment at Accadia Manor. The whole process has been such a positive experience for her from the first enquiry to moving in two months ago. The staff and residents are kind, caring and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. She has a beautiful apartment with alterations made to her specific requests. She doesn't have to worry about maintenance, safety or having days where she had no one to talk to. There is always something interesting for her to be involved with and go off and do in the van. She's trying new things and connecting with people who enjoy the same interests on a daily basis. It's just the perfect balance between independence and a being part of a wider caring community. As a family member who lives overseas, it's absolute peace of mind that at 83 years old, her world is expanding instead of shrinking in a village she is valued, stimulated and feels totally at home in.
