6 years agoThe staff are friendly & caring. My mum has been in there on their hospital side as she needs 24hrs care now. Good meals & visitors can also have meals there, you get the same as them very cheap. As it only cost me $5 to have lunch with my mum. Dessert provided as well. She loves it there as long as she's happy. Not far from Southmall only 10mins by car & 5mins walk to nearest dairy. Their shopping is done for them & depending on their health situation they are taken out for visits. They have a daily activities sheet so you know what they be doing.

4 years agoMy father has been at Erin Park for 4 years. The staff at Erin Park have been fantastic in building a strong relationship with my father. They are genuinely focused in providing personal one on one care, showing empathy, engagement, and respect. The staff turn over in the last two years has been low which is so important in building trusted relationships. Over lock down they went out of their way to make the best out of a bad situation. It was such a relief when we were not able to have our visits to know there was a team focused on keeping my father safe and well. The management team are responsive, easy to communicate with, and open to any ideas to add to my fathers engagement - so far nothing has been to much trouble. The more you engage with team the better outcome for your loved one. It is not the newest or biggest Resthome but it is clean and well presented. I would trade fancy buildings for caring staff any day. Being able to transition simply from the rest home to the hospital was also really important due to the slow decline of aged related conditions. It was just so simple and we were supported through the process. Thank you AJ, Kiran and the team in Nikau ward.
