Christchurch City Mission stands as a beacon of hope in the heart of Christchurch, dedicated to providing essential support services for those facing difficult times. Known for its food bank and budgeting assistance, this establishment offers help with genuine kindness and respect, making it easier for individuals to seek aid without fear of judgment. Many have expressed heartfelt gratitude for the life-changing support received during challenging financial periods. Beyond food assistance, the mission operates a men’s shelter that serves as a sanctuary where dignity and compassion prevail. Their commitment to treating every individual with care and empathy shapes a more compassionate Christchurch and inspires hope for many.

6 months agoFood bank and budgeting services: cannot thank them enough for their willingness to help whilst sparing judgement - found myself in a few rough spots this past year financially and they have been genuine life savers. I've always been terrified to ask for help (which has gotten me in a lot of financial struggles in itself) but the team here make it easy by always staying kind and respectful. 2 years agoI cannot adequately express the gratitude and admiration I feel for Christchurch City Mission, especially the men's shelter. This is an institution that truly puts its heart into service, making a significant difference to some of the most vulnerable members of our society. The shelter is so much more than a roof over one's head - it is a sanctuary where dignity, compassion, and genuine care are in abundant supply. Special recognition must be given to the tireless and dedicated staff members, who treat every individual who walks through the door with respect and kindness. Steve, Robbie, Harriot, Thomas, Pete, and Brian - your hard work, dedication, and compassion are nothing short of inspiring. The way you navigate challenges and extend your kindness towards every individual is truly admirable. Your contributions are not only changing lives but also shaping a more compassionate and understanding community around you. We are all better for having you in our corner. Thank you for your tireless efforts and for being a beacon of hope and kindness in our city. Your dedication truly makes a difference and is a testament to the transformative power of love, empathy, and respect. Peace and good vibes, Levi (Phoenix) Burton, Intended Candidate for Mayor, Grey District Council
