3 months agoCHT is a rest home. Like most rest homes it has very capable staff who try to do their best, but because they are run as businesses they have only the legal minimum staff limit which means careers and nurses are always under pressure. I cannot recommend the food given to the residents, again controlled by bean counters and leave much to be improved. Overall this rest home is one of the better ones.

5 years agoSadly 0 stars wasn't an option. Noone deserves this level of neglect. Especially not our LOVED ones. The website claims the money all goes back into caring for the elderly, yet bathing, feeding, toilet change, medical needs, bedding cleanliness, and every other service offered is below average so risk of deadly infection is extremely high. They need to stop being so money hungry and employ more staff so those caring for residents constant needs have the time to MEET THE STANDARDS PAID FOR!

5 years agoDue to ongoing concerns for my mother in law's welfare and poor standard of care were forced in a short time to remove her. A Tauranga hospital visit confirmed our fears that she was being seriously neglected and according to Professional Medical staff at this Hospital was a classic case of neglect.

a year agoI visit this CHT B, weekly to ctch up with old friends..the place is clean, the professional staff and the office lady are very friendly..we call it God's waiting rooms as most of the people come here to slow down and retire from their busy working lifes...a safe place to be..all meals are included along with Medicare, outings, entertainment and their own rooms.. when I'm ready to retire, I would definitely look at going into Bernadette.

5 years agoAbsolutely do not recommend this place! If I could give zero stars I would! Had a family member in here and she was neglected by them. It was an absolutely horrific situation, and I would not wish this upon anybody else!
