a year agoTry their hot food!! We love this local business, Clem and Lene are like our community grandparents, so friendly and hard working. We tried their burgers recently after several people recommended them and I see why! I had the Step It Up burger with fries. I'm just gonna say it... better than a Big Mac! The relish, the juicy beef patty, the melted cheese, the Secret Sauce!! And the fries were hot, perfectly cooked with this delicious spice mix mmmmm. My wee one had hash brown sticks, served trucker style in a cup with the sauce at the bottom. I had to make her slow down on the eating, not that I blame her they were divine!! Highly recommend, they even have a few tables in the front of the shop, tucked behind the doors out of the wind and perfect for people watching. With the coffee machine and ice cream for pudding, then grab your groceries before heading home, legit what else can you want!?

3 months agoLovely service and amazing burgers, we got step it up and vege burger with a gluten free bun both delicious big meals and the side of chips was beautifully cooked not greasy. We will most certainly be back again Definitely recommend

6 months agoWe stayed around the area for a couple of days and stumbled upon this wonderful grocery store. The chap working here was one of the best in terms of friendliness and customer service we’ve ever had. He was so lovely and helpful, the store itself was great and we went back for the burgers which were really worthwhile and I’d highly recommend. I wish I had this store back where I’m from!

7 months agoI got the Step it Up burger on Friday and had to go back tonight to try the Chicken burger. BOTH ARE SO GOOD! 15/10. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The chips are also amazing. Best food in Opunake and best burger I've had in New Zealand.
