Location: Egmont Village Community Centre, behind the primary school, 1299 Egmont Rd, Egmont Village

Time: 2nd Saturday of the month, 10:00 AM

What is a Crop Swap?

A crop swap is a friendly, non-monetary event where community members come together to exchange homegrown produce, homemade goods, and gardening knowledge. It’s a fantastic way to share your garden’s abundance, discover new foods, and connect with people who are passionate about growing their own food.

What to Bring:

  • Homegrown Produce: Whatever you have in surplus—from vegetables and fruits to herbs and flowers.
  • Homemade Products: Jams, chutneys, eggs, bread, or other creations.
  • Garden Supplies: Seeds, seedlings, cuttings, or even useful tips and tricks.

Why Join the Swap?

  • Trade for Variety: Swap your excess zucchini for something you don’t grow, like fresh lemons or herbs.
  • Connect with Your Community: Meet other local growers and share tips and success stories.
  • Reduce Food Waste: Don’t let your bounty go to waste. Share it with neighbors who can use it.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just have a few extra lemons from your tree, everyone is welcome. We hope to see you at the next Crop Swap Egmont Village!

Suzy Randall

Suzy Randall is mentioned in the context of being a "Crop Swap Programme Manager" with Franziska von Hunerbein and working for Sustainable Taranaki. This suggests she plays a key role in the organization now, but the initial founding is attributed to Franziska von Hunerbein.
