4 years agoMy Mum spent her last days at Edith Cavell and we were so grateful for the staff's kindness and care. Dad is now in a studio unit, it's a beautiful room, cosy and comfortable, and he has been enjoying all of the activities, good company and great food! We found the process of buying the unit was easy, with plenty of help from Sharryn in understanding about how things work within the setting of a retirement home. The staff are great, always friendly and welcoming, we've appreciated Maria, Rose and Scott, who are all very helpful. The grounds are beautiful, with gorgeous big trees, lovely flower gardens, as well as the views to the hills - and a short walk to the beach.

3 years agoOur beloved dad (Dale) lived at Edith Cavell for 9 months, and from the initial visits to purchasing a studio with the help from Sharryn Pidgeon, we found the experience very positive at a challenging time. She was compassionate, professional and a great communicator, right through to selling the studio on dad’s passing. Dad very much enjoyed his time at Edith Cavell and was happy here, he was free to have his own garden area with his prized bonsai pot plants. The staff were so good to him and supportive of his family and friends too. Scott, Maria, Rose, Bill to name a few and all the other wonderful staff members made Edith Cavell a family of sorts to dad with a lovely community feel and high level of care. Thank you to you all. Sarita and family.

5 years agoEdith Cavell is in beautiful Sumner, and easy walk (or wheelchair trip or drive for the elderly) to the beach. My mother had a large unit with a sunny courtyard and it gave her much pleasure. The staff were delightful and I couldn't ask for a more attentive, caring and professional nursing staff. They have a lot of events and involve the residents in feedback and improvement ideas.

4 years agoI fell In love with this facility the moment I walked in the door, I knew it was right. Far exceeded the others I had viewed that day. My mother has been a resident now for a year and visiting with her in the beautiful surroundings and being greated by the amazing staff is one of my favourite things. Very caring staff feel like family. I plan to end up retiring there myself one day (not too soon).
