9 months agoI visited Aotearoa in the previous few weeks and stopped by the HCC branch to get some help with car rentals in the area (I'm originally from Australia). The person at the front desk who I talked to [Jahzyja] was incredibly helpful, even making phone calls for me, checking consumer affairs standards and such. I wanted to thank them again and show my appreciation here. Their kindness and courtesy was a great help to me in my trip. :)

a year agoI have been resident in Hamilton since Xmas renovating a house. I have had two interactions with Council in that time. The first was tracking down my various bins (there are four) ;Living down a ROW with 12 houses these things tend to wander. The problem was solved very quickly by their rubbish and recycling team. Three bins have been recovered. The fourth I think will need to be replaced as it cannot be discovered. Today I complained about rubbish bags left on the road by the council rubbish contractors. I expected an argument, and had even done my research so was prepared, but no argument occurred. The matter was dealt with amicably and quickly assigned to the HCC illegal dumping team. I had a view of HCC as being high priced and finickity with rules, but after these interactions I now also appreciate that they have some very good people and systems in place. Thank you for your work.
