Beautiful gardens to visit, whatever time of the year. This visit was during the middle month of Spring, 22 October 2023. Spacious, full of native bird life and song and filled with many Azalea and Rhododendron plants that were still in flower. There is an indoor rest-stop venue containing information, and where there is also facility for enjoying a hot drink; open during core hours. Access to toilet facilities are available in several locations. Outdoor areas are available for picnic or barbecue. There is also an outdoor children's play area, so very family oriented.

Very cute gardens which we went to after our hike in Taranaki. Lovely the information board and the Hollard centre was very adorable. Will be back for a picnic next time we are in town.

A nice leisurely stroll through the gardens in late summer. Most flowers finishing but still plently of interest to keep you occupied for an hour or three. Toilets available in several locations, bbq area, picnic area, kids play area. Best bit to me was the old gardens and bush walk, although the rhodos and magnolias will look stunning in spring. The wildlife are pretty friendly too. Free entry and plenty of car parking.

Real hidden gem! We half stumbled across the gardens coming down off the mountain after a morning walk. The gardens are extensive, well maintained and beautifully presented, they are as good as gardens get, with lots of variety, you would expect to see gardens of this calibre in a major city, not in the middle of farmland. There is a very comfortable indoor visitor Center you can relax in with a free hot drink. There’s a awesome kids playing ground in a open park like setting and a barbecue area. Plenty of parking and it’s all Free! So if you have even a slight interest in beautifully presented plants and flowers or just like being in a very zen like environment make sure you visit.
