The Community Centre is a very well run central hub for the Kilbirnie area. It has a Kaibosh Food Bank once a week providing vital sustenance for the less well off. It has many organised activities for all ages during the week and the afternoon I was there, they had a well attended group in the hall enjoying a singalong. The manager told me they also show movies once a week. The Citizens Advice Bureau is located in the building, and their office is open in the mornings with friendly staff available to help anyone with issues they may have.

Sadly the revamp of the community centre doesn't seem like much and still has not been finished with no dividing wall to break up the big and small room. The acoustics are bad and the most comfortable chairs with cloth seats look stained and dirty. The awful covering of the piano looks like my mother's bed sheet is in the centre of the room when you walk in. Surely something can be done to revamp the little things for the users,

Free community meal put on by a local church group. Bruce and Diana Welsh. Food for thought. Every Sunday at 6:00pm Christmas special today, the thought was the real reason we care and share at Christmas time because of the miracle birth of the one and only son of God our/your creator. Lamb, chicken and ham, spuds and kumara, peas and beans, salad with dressing. Selection of desserts. Non alcoholic sparkling grape juice. Lots of conversation with joy and happiness.

This is definitely a community orientated organisation. They always have activities for the comminuty to participate in. Very friendly environment. All walks of life are welcomed. Can go in for a chat a cup of coffee such a greay way for people to meet and interact. A place where the less fortunate to homeless can find comfort and warmth. Such a blessing to the community.
