2 months agoThe vibe, food and service here was top tier! After a 4hr tranz alpine train ride from Christchurch to Greymouth, I was in need of a good feed and I definitely found it here! I ordered the ribs with beer battered chips, my partner had the fish and chips and we shared the Sunday lamb shoulder roast with gravy on roast potatoes and veges. My partner said the fish and chips were one of the best she has ever had which I promise, says A LOT! Me being allergic to seafood, couldn't partake in the fish lol! The ribs were very tasty thanks to their in-house sauce that the tender ribs were smothered in but those beer battered chips were freaking good! Chips on their own cost $17 which is pretty hefty, but i would pay that again for those chips! The biggest surprise was the lamb shoulder roast. Holy heck were they tender and full of flavour! I'm not a fan of Brussels sprouts but even they tasted amazing! I whole heartedly recommend stopping here for a feed, even if you must take a small detour to Greymouth on your adventure in the South Island.

4 months agoWe went for a tour. It was fascinating to learn about the process of brewing. It would have been a better experience if the brewery was operational. But hey, you still get to see the brewery and pour some beer for tasting.
