a week agoWhile a bit on the pricey side Moore Wilson's have an incredible range of great produce, meat and dairy and most things I ever need/want, and typically of outstanding quality. The "chook wagon" is unfortunately long gone. Also worth noting that the bulk section is awesome, I'd rather buy 500 g of caraway seeds for 10 bucks than 45 g at the supermarket for 3.50 The bulk section caters to my frozen berry, yogurt, dried fruit, free-range egg and nut needs at very reasonable prices. And of course there is also the well-stocked liquor department, with its knowledgeable and friendly staff. A huge selection of wines. I'll have to add the recommendation to avoid the place before a holiday - my usual routine of getting in early (before 8 on a Saturday) and out before it gets too busy didn't work out today. ;-) That aside it's still (and despite being expensive) one of my favourite shopping spots. The service in the kitchenware department is outstanding.

3 weeks agoSeldom these days can we visit a department store. Top floor of children's toys and a fair amount of Lego. Middle floor of a vast array of kitchen equipment, well worth a look. Bottom floor is a foodies delight. Cakes galore and "To die for" becomes more of a certainty than an expression. Breads of all types but mainly the delicious variety. Cheeses, vegetables, fruit, coffee, fresh pressed orange juice, a small café area... a delight to visit. Even better... not overpriced.
