a week agoJust returned Premium Beef Mince that was discoloured and had a bad smell. According to the Butcher the meat was fresh (huh?). I have been a chef for 30 years and worked for a SPAR South Africa as a HMR Specialist and have dealt with similar situations a thousand times where Butchers use just expired or best before date (final day) Beef from the shelf for Beef Mince knowing very well that the Beef is not fresh. The worst thing is to lie to a customer. Will take my business elsewhere!

2 months agoThis supermarket needs to smarten up it's act. It is understaffed and the quality of their produce is average. The staff are rude when you ask them for help and I am sick of having to search through the nearly rotten produce to find fruit and vegetables that will last for a few days. I don't know why this supermarket has gone downhill so I will be shopping at New World Tawa from now on which is well staffed, great fresh produce and much more variety.

a month agoRude staff! Expensive items. Gemma needs a lesson in customer service - no matter her views on people from different cultural backgrounds. Had stopped shopping here due to a prior poor experience but thought should give it a chance to support local, but never going back. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

a month agoClean & nice local supermarket. Used to have crabs and fishballs. Recent times I've checked, no longer. New owners are from out of the area/region originally. I don't believe that they totally appreciate or are versed with what the extremely large number of Asians in the area need/like/buy. Their loss though cos those people will bring business to the likes of AMart out at Johnsonville.

2 months agoA nice quiet place to shop, i like the breads there. I sampled the ube (purple yam) donut and ended up getting a few more for the house.
