a month agoTried to buy flowers for my girls birthday. New World always has a great selection. Unfortunately her birthday was the day after we moved from Napier to Hastings but I made it to New World 5mins before close and was told I could not come in. I explained I knew what I wanted to get and would be out before closing time. The security guard said no because the staff want to get home. Seems a little unfair to advertise being open till 9pm if you close early for no other reason then people not wanting to complete their full shift.

2 weeks agoPaid $14.99 for a single lamb shank. Drowning in oil, barely any meat, and completely not worth the price. For what I paid, I expected a hearty piece of meat but instead got a greasy, unappealing bone with scraps of meat. Poor quality, very disappointing and certainly not worth repeating.

3 months agoGreat store, fully ranged with everything you want. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The 2 ladies on the lotto counter are a bit of a laugh they were so busy but very very efficient at getting everyone served.

3 months agoWas awesome to see no self service checkouts when I went into NW yesterday. However, the staff say they will be back. I really hope that NW does NOT bring them back and instead become a beacon for supporting families to earn an income. Self service checkouts remove the need for some counter staff, meaning families can't work for a living. Come on NW would be awesome if you led by example to improve people's lives.
