3 weeks agoThey have very friendly staff and helpful with any questions you may have. but there is one Oder lady that works on check out, I will not say her name but find her very rude and unfriendly if wasn’t for her would give five star , Moving on this New World is probably the best in Wellington for selling Gluten products they hold every thing you need if you’re Celiac, they have good range of plant based vegan products in the fridge

a month agoI am quite upset with the experience I had a with a staff member last night 15 July. I went to claim my smeg stickers with receipts from the week before. The guy (who I believe was the manager) was so rude and told me that I couldn’t claim them because they had to be claimed on the day. I had no idea about this rule and have been claiming my stickers past the date with no issues. I am just really upset because of how this guy said it. His tone and demeanour was very rude and almost angry and very annoyed -as if I was a bother. When I asked why there was this rule. He just said it’s in the T and Cs and it was to stop people from using receipts in the bins. As if I had done that. But also, does it matter where the receipt came from? A receipt is a receipt. If it has stickers entitled to it then it should work. He then also just took my receipts from me and didn’t give it back which I think is actually illegal as they were my proof of purchase. Anyway, I am very upset about how I was treated and my stickers. I have been shopping at new world for years and this is the first time I have been treated this way. This shop is now my local grocery but I honestly would rather drive to Thorndon and Chaffers than be treated like this. Please train your staff better.

5 months agoI have been going to this supermarket my entire life. 2 of the lovely and sweetest checkout ladies have been there for as long as I can remember, and all of the staff are so helpful and kind. The carpark up to the top is also SO convenient! Definitely easier access and better layout (in my opinion) compared to other NW like island bay.

2 years agoCost of living seems a tad bit high in New Zealand, I spotted some $28 grainola here. Packs of crisps seem overpriced, too. I also forget that you can buy booze in grocery stores.
