New World Taihape

Went through Taihape the other day, and just wanted to say I was super impressed by everthing in the New World there. The staff were super friendly, and I believe they have a new young owner who's been renovating everything. Super impressed by the store, will definatley be popping back in on my way back through, and I recommend everyone to go and visit. Great community feel.

I wish I could give no star as this place doesn't deserve one star. Since the new owners bought the place half the shelves have been empty and we get the same story for months. 'New checkouts coming' 'New suppliers being arranged' Well there is only one supplier and it's Foodstuffs. This place has gone downhill and many of will be shopping out of town from now on.

Since I've moved here it's the worse place to shop. Apprentley i was told that when the new owners took over, it started out good, but that died out. His family work there aswell r useless putting stock in wrong places all the time and when there's the specials on especially tux dog food he only has 2 bags or very little of the other stock or wont get any of the specials and says sorry we've run out, bull u never got any in at all so we miss out then he never gets any more in. It's like he's trying to rip the locals off so that we only have one choice but to buy the next dearest option. Don't know how many times me and others have complained he doesn't care. But i guess that's their culture, just greed. So now I have to shop out of town. This poor little supermarket has just gone downhill. I hear many of the locals r sick of it. We try and speak to the owners family while they stock shelves, and they just walk away. They r the rudest owners and workers ever. The checkout operators and some workers r wonderful, except a maori woman whos name is Janice whonwoeksnin the dairy area she absolutely terrible to some of the customers who shop there the way she speaks to them it's nasty she should be fired apperentley she's been like that for yrs. The checkout staff they know of the fustrations with the locals, and they can't do anything but just hear people complaints the poor guys. Hope they leave so someone can take over and do a better job for us locals. Photos eg: put biscuits in wrong spot more expensive ones in the cheap spot when should be next to it these r the tux bites which r not in the specials and also have not had any in for over a week while specials r on. Can't even get a raincheck
