7 years agoOur Saturday morning Routine... going to the market and buy veggies and fruits. Very affordable and very good quality!!! Coriander for $1-$1.50 instead of $4 in the Supermarket. Apples between 1.29 - 2.50 kilo, Potatoes 1.99 kilo... etc of course depending on the season but always cheaper then anywhere else!

a year agoFantastic farmer’s market, where you can get a great variety of produce from the different vendors often for quite a bit cheaper than the supermarkets nearby at a consistently high quality.

a year agoThe best produce market I have ever been to in NZ. I've lived in Auckland and Christchurch so safe to say I thoroughly believe this is a good quality market. It is set on Newtown school grounds on the Saturday, there is paid parking directly across the road on hospital grounds. The stalls are organised, quick and clean. The produce is fresh and beats supermarket prices, I brought a very large Kale for 2$, spring onions/coriander/parsley 1.50$, pumpkin/lettuces/chili packs 3$, persimmons 3.99kg, 3$ a cucumber (if you buy 3) as an example. There are bakery goods, large trays of fresh eggs, coffee carts and an excellent asian grocer for tofu, noodles and buns. If you have cash ready, shopping is a breeze and can be done in 5-10minutes. Bring your own bags.

4 years agoFresh vegetables and fruit straight from the farmers. It's fun seeing quirky vegetable shapes among the numerous tables and boxes of produce. There are bread and cheese stalls as well as a fishtruck. One must try the goods served at the coffee truck. It is worth to check out the crafts stalls in the hall as well.

6 years agoGet ready for the hustle and bustle. Lots of people, lots of beautiful fresh fruit and veggies. Easiest with cash but a few vendors are taking money cards. Decent size market, huge variety, best quality.
