3 months agoDuring checkout, I purchased two 2L bottles of milk and one 1L bottle. However, I was charged for three 2L bottles instead. While I understand that mistakes can happen, the situation could have been resolved simply by refunding the price difference. Importantly, we had not even left the store when we noticed the error. We returned to the counter immediately, and the staff could clearly see the items still in our shopping trolley. Unfortunately, the experience was made worse by the store manager’s poor attitude. Instead of acknowledging the cashier’s mistake, the manager insisted that we had scanned the items incorrectly ourselves, which was not true. This accusation was not only inaccurate but also quite upsetting. Although the price difference was eventually refunded, the dismissive and accusatory attitude we encountered left us feeling extremely disappointed and uncomfortable. We hope that your team can handle such situations more professionally in the future.

4 months agoThe large trolleys there are in a very poor state and difficult to push if you have a large shop up. After trying 3 different ones before even going in, the one I got ended up having a mind of its own by half way through my shopping. So I decided to go and put the 1st half of my shopping through to only get them put into another one with the same issues at the checkouts. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and half the packing stations had one staff member leaning against it watching the checkouts. Had to walk to the far end of the benches to find a spot to pack. So, when I came back to do the second half of my shop, I wanted a newer smaller trolley and of course there were none there so went back to the roof to get my own. Works a lot better than the bigger trolley though but not enough room for a full shop in one. But of course staff we're filling most of the packing benches again watching the checkouts when it came time to pack the second load. Come on guys, get some decent big trolleys. Not only is it frustrating, in a busy shop with a smaller person trying to manage it I would call it a health and safety issue. How about investing in your customers experience there, by at the least providing a trolley that is easy to push and still works well as I put a bigger load in and spend money in your shop. Lift the game.

a year agoA really good one for shopping at Hornby. More options and pricing is competitive with other grocery stores in the area. It's easy for the people from Rolleston to come here for shopping.

2 weeks agoWe've been to most of the Pak n Save's in the South Island & some up North, but definitely all in Chch. Today we were out at Rolleston & decided we'd do our groceries at the Hornby Pak n Save on the way home, never again....the broccoli was mouldy, the tomatoes were all battered & bruised, we were put off getting fruit by the way the guy was throwing it out onto the shelves/bins, the shop had no order about it at all & was nothing but a rabbit warren, quite skody compared to all the other P & S's!! Fruit & vege from mad butcher for us today but definitely back to Wainoni for us!! 😕
