6 months agoMy mother Rosemarie spent the last 6 months of her life at Shona McFarlane starting out in the hospital wing after being discharged from Hutt Hospital then transferred in to the rest home wing then in her final weeks she was transferred back to the hospital wing when her health deteriorated and throughout her whole journeys she was treated with dignity, respect and a whole lot of love from the amazing dedicated staff . The resident Dr Dhillon and his nurse practitioner Aniker , the clinical managers Swantje and Sonya and the nurses and carers went beyond their duty to make sure my mother was comfortable and not agitated especially in the lead up to her passing . The entertainment staff went out of their way to encourage my mother to come out of her room and participate in activities and were amazing at knowing everyone’s names and showing such care. It was a hard decision to put my mother in care at 91 after being independent for so long and she didn’t want to go but the team at SMcF tried so hard to make her and our family welcome and the care and love shown from the many nationalities in the staff put my trust back in the human race . The manager Megan Gouveneur is doing an outstanding job coordinating and managing the complex and constantly on the floor observing and being available for any family concerns. 2 years agoLove this place. They took good care of my Nan before she left me and my family to look over us. Thank you so much 🥰 stay blessed and keep up your amazing work and your continued empathy towards others, I felt it everytime I came to visit my Nan. Love always ❤

6 years agoOutstanding facilities!!. Amazing staff. I was reticent about my mother buying a townhouse in a retirement village, until I visited this place. It's stunning. There's a wonderful community vibe, loads to do (if you want), privacy, support, maintenance services......you name it.
