3 months agoAwesome team here - best SPCA in the top of the south. I came over from Nelson, saw the dog I immediately wanted from the moment I pulled into the carpark and the team got everything into motion to make our adoption possible. We were allowed to take him home on foster for a few weeks which gave us some great time together to see how he'd fit in and he instantly became part of the family. I think the SPCA team also saw this and we never felt like we'd suddenly lose him to another home, so we freely grew quite attached before officially adopting him. Now he's an incredibly happy part of our family, gentle with our child and protective of the chickens

a month agoThe staff at the SPCA are friendly. Some of them are knowledgeable when introducing the cats, and genuinely love animals — you can really feel it. The older cats are well trained, and the younger ones are cared for with plenty of toys and attention. You can see that all the animals are loved here. If you're looking for a furry family member who can truly touch your heart, just visit the centre and spend some time with them — you might just find your perfect match.

3 weeks agoAsked if I could purchase a top that was hanging out the back, got told ‘no’ it was being sent up to a “boutique” up north, why are items that are donated locally not being sold locally, then went to look at cds for the car, $10 each? Walked out with nothing.. absolutely gutted!

a year agoA fantastic clean facility, caring staff, happy contented animals everywhere as they feel safe. We adore our new cat already, she is such a sweetheart. My son loves her already (Muffin - now called Poppy), he has been so sad since his beloved old cat passed away.
