a month agoI would strongly recommend these guys if you're thinking of adopting a pet. They do a fabulous job at taking in & caring for strays, mistreated animals or orphan pets. My cat had recently had to be put down and I was missing her greatly. I shared my experience with the team and they were very sympathetic. The gentleman I dealt with, Josh whom worked in the cattery was very knowledgeable about each cat & kitten's background and their temperament. I could tell he'd spend a lot of time with each of them, soothing their anxiety and earning their trust. It was very difficult to choose just one. I felt for the older kitties, wondering if they took longer to adopt out, but Josh assured me that they were some of the most popular choices for retirees :), so I decided to adopt a bonded pair of female kittens. I'm pretty sure he found it hard to say goodbye to these little gremlins, I know I would have! I received a comprehensive adoption pack full of information on how to care for my kittens, vaccination record books & discount cards for pet food/accessories. You can also buy cat/kitten food and other items to care for your new pet at the centre too. My new 'daughters', Harley and Quinn are now growing like weeds - highly spoilt and very loved fattie princesses.

2 months agoWe recently adopted Elsie - now know as Goldie. She is such a lovable playful pup. Thanks so much to all at Whangarei SPCA for allowing us to adopt our new companion dog, and for helping us to make this process so easy.

4 months agoWe found the staff to be extremely professional and helpful, especially Josh. He took the time to introduce us to all the potential kittens that might suit our family best. We ended up adopting two brothers (Leo and Oliver) who has become our son's best friends and are ruling the house.

6 months agoThe friendly staff members introduced me to the kittens that were up for adoption and shared thier thoughts and advice about the adoption process and the lovely animals that they care for at the centre. I feel really sorry that I could not adopt all of them but, I would kindly like to request the community to adopt a pet from them which really helps save other animals in need. I think the team at the SPCA whangarei are doing a really good job caring and taking care of orphaned or abused animals. If you need a pet friend, you shod definitely visit them and take a lovely pet home. You will be making a difference for the pet you adopt and all the other pets being looked after by the organization.
