St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Princes Street is evolving into a vibrant hub for community fellowship and spiritual reflection. Known for its inclusive approach welcoming all creeds and cultures, the church recently launched a community garden initiative in partnership with Sustainable Taranaki, encouraging collaboration and growth. Attendees appreciate the warm services and engaging events planned, including music and food gatherings post-renovations. This unique church offers a peaceful space in Hāwera for connection, support, and shared purpose.

3 years agoWow, watch this space!! One could liken plans for the soon to be earthquake strengthened church, to the film Sister Act. Dinners with all the trimmings wine and all and speakers not sermons are intended. Today a community garden of seeds to seeds cycle - not, just growing veges, was launched in conjunction with Sustainable Taranaki. 20+ gathered to hear of plans and gather ideas while all enjoying fresh home baking and BBQ. Well worth calling into St Marys office and popping your name down on the contact register plus Sustainable Taranaki Facebook site. Music and food events from later in year once strengthening complete. ALL welcome - all creed & culture gender and preference, help development of a place of peace fellowship in both the garden for reflection and horticulture cycle seed to seed and all in between.
