The Church Manapouri

The food, customer service and view all excellent. The blue cod was so delicious we ordered another plate. Ate both without taking a picture it seems. Really enjoyed it all.

After a long day of driving, The Church in Manapouri was the perfect spot to stop for a hearty meal. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff made for a great dining experience. We ordered the open steak sandwich and the beef schnitzel—both were delicious and well-prepared. The portion sizes were generous, just what we needed after a day on the road. The service was warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. If you're passing through Manapouri, this is definitely a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal. Highly recommended!

Arrived in manapouri at 7 pm. Had a couple of drinks and a blue cod burger and the fettuccine. Both meals were piping hot and tasted great. Greta view from upstairs balcony of mountain ranges. Cost for food and the two drinks was $73 nzd. All in all good food and recommended.

Food was great - seafood chowder was really flavourful and rich and the fish was cooked well, an absolute hidden gem! The sticky date pudding was outstanding and very generous, a perfect way to finish a meal!

We stopped here because the guide recommended it. But everything exceeded our expectations. This pub and its atmosphere are magical... It's also very popular with the locals. The two beers we had were delicious—one of the best stops, if not the best, of our vacation!
