2 weeks agoThe Shelf Café on High Street was an unexpected gem. Honestly, I only popped in because I urgently needed to use the toilet – but once inside, the atmosphere won me over instantly. I decided to order and was so glad I did. The food was beautifully balanced in flavour and presentation, with fresh ingredients and a real attention to detail. The coffee was rich, smooth, and exactly what you want from a great city café. Best of all, the hospitality was genuine and friendly, making me feel like a welcome guest rather than just a customer. What started as a pit stop turned into a highlight of my day – I’ll definitely be back, this time on purpose.

a month agoI was visiting Auckland from Dubai and stumbled across this place by accident. What a cute cafe and hidden gem! 😍 was the most delicious eggs Benedict I have eaten in my life. I loved the cute interiors and the restaurant looks family-owned. Will definitely be back thank you for a delicious breakfast!

5 months agoI came to this place and the atmosphere was really cozy and homey. There are some books, magazines and newspapers for you to read. It literally feels like a (book)shelf. The 2-seating tables at the end of the hall are cute and perfect for couples or for studying. They offer sandwiches, desserts and some heavy to light food. I liked the presentation of the coffee but the wooden saucers looked old.

a month agoIt would be better if the owner clean up the mess in the conner, but still it's a cute place as it is now. I went there on 19th of June and they have Chestnut Latte as special, tasty at first too sweet after 1/5 cup. Food was brilliant, I love the hashbrown will definitely come back for more brunch.

7 months agoThe Shelf is such a charming coffee shop! The decor is super cute, with unique and quirky items displayed on every shelf, giving it a cozy and fun vibe. They offer light snacks and some creative coffee options—like the sesame coffee, which I regret not trying. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, definitely a bit different from other coffee shops. It’s a lovely spot to hang out or even do some work on your laptop. As for the coffee itself, it’s good, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the unique ambiance!
