9 months agoA well presented op shop BUT so over priced. Was looking for knock about clothes for grandkids. $8 for a pair of well worn shorts. New cost less!! Whoever does the prices needs to check retail outlets first. People go into op shops to save $$ not pay more. Other than that the staff are lovely and range good

3 years agoLess than helpful with my dad after him being diagnosed and referred with untreatable pancreatic cancer. Felt brushed off and when things got really rough was told to ring 111. This was all in the space of a month. I get they are understaffed and dont have beds but felt they did not take our concerns seriously. One nurse that visited even promised a pain management bed next day or 2 and completely backtracked later that evening. More support and communication would have been nice. Short of screaming for help I'm not sure what would have helped them take us seriously. Paramedics were awesome and Tauranga hospital staff. Dad passed away peacefully eventually in hospital Sunday but Waipuna Hospice needs a serious overhaul.

4 years agoWithout the Hospice Team I don't know where we'd be. My Dad was unwell from Sept 2019 to July 2020 when he passed away. Despite multiple hospital and GP visits he deteriorated then suffered a small fall at home. Gail and her team stepped in, with help from the wonderful carers at Ngati Ranganui Iwi. His final 3 days were more tolerable for Dad, Mum, my Brother & I because they cared and they acted decisively. Six months later my very ill Mum was admitted to the hospice facility at Waipuna (having been referred to hospice a week or so earlier) and unfortunately passed away on New Years Day. The extremely high level of care and professionalism I witnessed for Mum was tremendous and our family could not have been more grateful to the hospice team (including Emily, Lance, Sue, Jane, Dawn, Helen (x2), Michelle and all of the others whose names I wish I could recall) as we simply could not have managed without you all. An amazing facility and an incredible team. Thank you! 👍😊
