Wilson Carlile Rest Home & Hospital

Wilson Carlile is a person-centred facility. Coming in casually for about a year, the atmosphere is always welcoming, positive and light. Whenever I have a request or concern, I know I can trust the staff to be responsive, communicate well, and be willing to help however possible. For me, this is really important. The manager, administrators, nurses, caregivers and activity coordinators show the same care for residents and visitors, and always have a smile to give. This is very encouraging. In little ways I see staff members show real concern for the well-being of residents. Overall, I am grateful for the effort of staff to create a homely and joyful environment- it really pays off! Unfortunately our 97 yr old mother had a massive stroke at the end of 2024 and we had to find end of life care for her. Thankfully our family chose Wilson Carlile after looking at other options. The care that Suzette and her staff gave our mother during her last weeks of life was exemplary - from the friendly office staff, clinical nurse, registered nurses, carers, kitchen staff, and cleaning staff. Everyone made our mother comfortable and treated her with dignity. We as a family were made to feel welcome anytime night or day and we cannot thank you all enough. We would certainly recommend Wilson Carlile to others wanting their loved ones cared for.

Mum has been in care with Wilson Carlile for over 5 Years. In this time we have found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I feel reassured while at work that mum is getting the care she requires. During her day mum is supported and helped with her self care and independence by wonderful nursing staff. Mum is very social and enjoys her time in the Recreation room with many exciting trips to Cafe’s, Raglan for lunch, Country drives, Visiting the Christmas lights at the Morman Temple, Karapiro for Bbq lunch and most recently an evening in Rotorua to watch Cirque Africa. Nothing is a problem for these extremely caring staff.

I got to the point that I could no longer look after my Grandmother and I needed to put her into a rest home. We looked at Wilson Carlile and loved it. Loved the warm homely feeling it had. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We felt this was the perfect place for my Grandmother to move into. She was at hospital care level and was well looked after. I would recommend this rest home to all.
