2 months agoWoolworths Auckland City, located at 76 Quay Street in the heart of the CBD, is a large and well-stocked supermarket that caters to the fast-paced needs of inner-city residents, office workers, and tourists. Open 24 hours a day, it stands out for its unmatched convenience, especially for those working late shifts or looking to grab groceries after hours. The store layout is spacious and thoughtfully organised, making it easy to navigate whether you’re doing a full grocery run or just picking up a few essentials. The range of products is extensive, including fresh fruit and vegetables, a decent meat section, pantry staples, frozen meals, bakery items, and plenty of ready-to-eat options for people on the go. The customer service is generally praised, with many noting that the staff are polite, efficient, and helpful—particularly during busy times. Self-checkout is available and tends to move quickly, although queues can stretch down the aisles during peak periods, such as after work or around payday. Despite its strengths, there are a few recurring issues. Some customers have mentioned pricing inconsistencies on advertised specials and noted that the store can feel a bit cluttered at times, especially when shelves are being restocked. Long queues during busy evenings are also a common complaint, with some shoppers saying they’ve spent more time waiting to pay than actually shopping. Still, Woolworths Auckland City remains a go-to option for many due to its central location, wide selection, and 24/7 accessibility. It may not be the calmest or most premium shopping experience, but it offers everything a city-based supermarket should: reliability, convenience, and a broad range of products to meet everyday needs at any hour.

6 months agoDon’t ever go this supermarket! Bad experience ever! Had my items worth 1k NZD stolen at an Auckland countdown supermarket counter. Staff asked me to leave my belongings at the counter before enter, and when I returned, they were gone!!! I asked the staff to check the CCTV, and we saw the thief openly took my items from the counter! Their duty manager said it’s my responsibility to keep track of my valuables and they are not responsible. He even asked why I didn’t leave my items in the counter’s locked area which is inside the counter , which I couldn’t even access! CCTV showed the thief taking them, but the duty manager malkeet Singh refused to take responsibility. That’s a joke! They suggested I file a report and claim insurance, but the whole experience was frustrating. Be cautious when leaving your items with them!!!

a year agoIt’s a great store, pretty huge. They have great variety a huge selection. Most of the things are in stock. Produce was fresh, amazing options. Great meat options too, bread, snacks. Kitchen needs, household stuff, laundry, detergent. You name it and they have it. They have fresh mussel’s. Amazing different flowers and plants. There were some herb plants too. Found some really nice deals, they have most of the items that are on promotion. Staff is nice, super quick to assist.

4 weeks agoI had a very upsetting experience at Woolworths Auckland City on 26 July 2025. I arrived at 9:53 PM, which is before the advertised closing time of 10:00 PM. When I reached the door, a young male staff member kindly greeted me and said I was “right on time”, and allowed me to enter. However, just moments later, a middle-aged man in a light green vest approached me and stopped me in a very rude and unprofessional manner. I explained I would be quick, and even said I wouldn’t go into the aisles — I asked if he could just bring me any bread to the checkout and I’d pay and leave immediately. He still refused and spoke in a harsh, dismissive tone. What shocked me even more was that a white female customer had walked in just seconds before me, and he let her in without question. This inconsistency in treatment made me feel I was being discriminated against, which was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. After I left, the young male staff member who had welcomed me even came over to check if I was okay — which I truly appreciated. It shows that there are good, respectful staff in this store, but also others whose behaviour reflects bias and poor customer service. I hope Woolworths management takes this issue seriously — especially when the store clearly states closing at 10:00 PM. All customers should be treated equally, respectfully, and with basic courtesy, regardless of background.
